List of deaths in The Simpsons

In the popular cartoon The Simpsons, there have been deaths throughout the series. This article attempts to list them all.

In the first section of the page, the deaths from non-Treehouse of Horror episodes are listed. For more information on the non-canon themes of the Halloween episodes, view this section of Wikipedia's The Simpsons article.

The second half of the page lists deaths from nothing but the Halloween episodes. A table linking all the Treehouse of Horror episodes can be viewed at the bottom of the page.

Deaths during the series

Before Season One

• Uncle Hubert, died in the Tracey Ullman Simpsons shorts.
• Snowball I, died when hit by a car.
• Great-Grampa Simpson, seen in Heaven by Bart Simpson in Bart Gets Hit By a Car.

Season One

No deaths.

Season Two

• Beatrice "Bea" Simmons, died in Old Money. Died of a burst ventricle.

Season Three

No deaths, with the exception of perhaps Scoie on a McBain film viewed by Homer Simpson in Saturdays of Thunder.

Season Four

• Aunt Gladys Bouvier, died in Selma's Choice.

Season Five

• Great Uncle Boris, left the Simpsons family his house when he died in Homer Loves Flanders.

Season Six

• Bleeding Gums Murphy, died in hospital from illness in 'Round Springfield.
• SuperDude, the school hamster, found dead in Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part One.
• Dr. Marvin Monroe (?) It is unknown whether Marvin Monroe is actually dead. In Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part Two, the hospital is called The Marvin Monroe Memorial Hospital, and since that, his gravestone has been seen. Marvin Monroe re-appeared ten years later, saying he has been "very sick". If a death took place, it is estimated to have happened during Season Six.

Season Seven

• Great-Aunt Hortense, died sometime before Bart the Fink and left the Simpsons $100 each.
• Asa Phelps, died in Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in "The Curse of the Flying Hellfish", leaving Abraham Simpson and Charles Montgomery Burns as the two last surviving members of their army unit. The other members of the group, Sheldon Skinner, Arnie Gumble, Iggy Wiggum, Milton "Ox" Haas, Etch Westgrin and Griff McDonald also all died before the episode.
• Mr. Estes, a publications advisor, died and left Lisa Simpson boss sometime before the episodeSummer of 4 Ft. 2.

Season Eight

• James Bont, a James Bond parody, was shot to death by Hank Scorpio's guards in You Only Move Twice.
• Frank Ormand, who gave Marge Simpson the idea to begin a pretzel business. Died in a car crash in The Twisted World of Marge Simpson.
• Shary Bobbins, died when sucked into a jet engine in Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala(Annoyed Grunt)cious.
• Rex Banner, presumed dead when shot from a catapult out of town.
• Frank Grimes, died of electrocution in Homer's Enemy. He was alluded to later on in the series in Natural Born Kissers when Homer Simpson found a program for the funeral in his suit jacket.

Season Nine

• Captain Tenille, died when Homer torpedoed him out of a submarine in Simpson Tide.
• C.W. McAllister, died on the Murderhorn mountain in 1928. Only found in King of the Hill.

Season Ten

• Mr. Pinchy, Homer's pet lobster, died when his bath was too hot. An extremely upset Homer ate Mr. Pinchy later at dinner in Lisa Gets an "A".
• Red Barclay, died in Maximum Homerdrive after a beef-eating contest. Dr. Hibbert says he died of beef poisoning.

Season Eleven

• Maude Flanders, died in Alone Again, Natura-Diddily when knocked off a racetrack grandstand by t-shirts shot from cannons. Maude was killed off due to problems with the voice actress Maggie Roswell. Maude's death is considered the most show-changing death.

Season Twelve

No deaths.

Season Thirteen

• Waylon Smithers, Sr., died when Homer was younger, however, Homer had flashbacks of the events when hypnotised in The Blunder Years. Died of radiation.

Season Fourteen

• Congressman Horace Wilcox, died of a heart attack in Mr. Spritz Goes to Washington.

Season Fifteen

• Snowball III, a ginger cat replacement of Snowball II. Died when the cat drowned in the Simpsons fish tank in I, D'oh-Bot
• Coltrane, a.k.a. Snowball IV, a white cat, replacement of Snowball III, died when it jumped out of the window to escape Lisa's music in I, D'oh-Bot
• Mr. Teeny I, II and III, Krusty the Clown remarks that he hasn't been this sad since Mr Teeny III died. He commented on this in Fraudcast News.

Season Sixteen

• James Caan, shot to death by Cletus's friends in All's Fair in Oven War.
• Health Inspector Frankie, died when eating one of Moe Szyslak's pickled eggs in Mommie Beerest

• Groundskeeper Willie, stabbed in the back with an ax (thrice)

• Martin Prince, stangled to death by Willie.
• Kent Brockman, killed by a billboard version of himself come to life.
• Otto Mann and a school bus of students, killed by a billboard come to life.

• Bart Simpson, accident on skateboard.
• Snake, electrocuted.
