Germaine and Foamy in the episode "Handmade Clothes"

Neurotically Yours is a series of Flash cartoons created by illwillpress (the online pseudonym of Jonathan Ian Mathers and the name of his online company) depicting a squirrel named Foamy ("Our lord and master"), who is the neurotic pet of a gothic girl named Germaine (voiced by Dawn Bennett). The cartoons are mainly found on the Ill Will Press homepage, in addition to numerous external sites.

Germaine is a misanthropic girl with purple hair. She normally wears "goth" clothing, which is generally quite skimpy for the majority of the cartoons (possibly as a fan service). She is also a member of the Wiccan faith.

Foamy is a loud-mouthed, obscene, fast-talking squirrel whose scathing and often expletive-ridden protests include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • People who "try to be something they aren't".
  • The World Trade Organization and its tyrannical stronghold on global funds and wealth distribution not limited to a perpetual struggle for the impoverished
  • Marketing techniques used by certain coffee shop establishments (by use of a satire mocking a fictitious coffee house known as "Star-Shmucks").
  • The "Fat-kins" diet.
  • People who sue the fast food industry (he cites the fictitious McDoonald's chain) because they are "fat bastards" who are irresponsible in their eating habits.
  • Metallica, for bringing about the downfall of Napster, a file-sharing service.
  • eBay auctions, creeps, and panties, in his more daring episodes.

Other characters include Pilz-E (a squirrel whose insanity, paranoia and general hyperactivity can be attributed to taking too much medication; so much so that it's a wonder he isn't dead), Begley (a squirrel from England with a punk haircut), and Leroy the Hatta (a black squirrel with a double standard for racist remarks). Pilz-E and Begley are both part of Foamy's personal cult, known as the "Foamy Card Cult" (FCC). In the episode titled "Inner Demons," Foamy created the "secret Foaminian Cult."

The show, despite having a legion of eager fans, has come under fire from time to time by people who consider the show to be selling out. These arguments are based on various hypocritical actions taken by the show's creator, Jonathan Ian Mathers (showing his disdain of people wishing to see Germaine naked and then showing her in more compromising positions, for example), the formulaic nature of each episode, the detraction away from humor in favor of extended rants, and the general feeling critics have that the show is basically designed around promoting more Foamy products.

While there is preference amongst some viewers towards the earlier episodes (which were based more around skits), the cartoon remains very popular. As well as raving reviews from the Neurotically Yours fanbase, requests have been made (and refused by the creator) to convert the series into a television show (he claimed on Newgrounds to have refused an offer from National Lampoon). However, many episodes can be found on DVD.

A new episode of Neurotically Yours is posted approximately every two weeks on Thursdays.

Jonathan Ian Mathers, via the character of Foamy the squirrel, recently "asked" that people help the victims of Hurricane Katrina, whilst condemning the looters and news reporters, whom he declared should be helping the victims and not merely reporting on them.

To date, there are 86 official episodes of Foamy and his shenanigans, the latest being "HALLOWEEN HOOPLA." There are also a number of fan-produced episodes circulated among various fansites on the Internet.
