Kexi is an integrated data management application. It can be used for designing and implementing database, data inserting and processing, performing queries. Kexi can connect to different database servers such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.

It can also work without a server, by utilizing builtin SQLite database engine. Forms can be created to provide a custom interface to your data. All database objects - tables, queries and forms - are stored in the database, making it easy to share data and design.

The idea of this development came because of noticeable lack of application like Microsoft Access, FoxPro, Oracle Forms or FileMaker that is powerful enough, inexpensive, open standards driven and highly portable between many operating systems and hardware platforms.

Kexi is a member of the KDE Desktop Environment and KOffice suite. It works under Linux/Unix and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
