The Big Five accountancy firms are (as of early 2002)

The BBC and New York Times are reporting (as of 11 March 2002) that Arthur Andersen, in the wake of the Enron scandal, is now seeking to sell itself to Deloitte & Touche. This would reduce the Big Five to the Big Four.
