Ivanhoe, Victoria
Ivanhoe is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is in the Local Government Area of the City of Banyule.
Ivanhoe is located approximately 12 kilometres north-east of Melbourne's C.B.D. It is largely an affluent neighbourhood, with many large homes dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Properties in the Eaglemont area often frequently auction for more than $1 million AUD.
The area hosts two of Melbourne's few private schools in the northern suburbs: Ivanhoe Grammar School and Ivanhoe Girl's Grammar.
Upper Heidelberg Rd is considered to be the suburb's centre, and is where the Ivanhoe Town Hall is located.
The Yarra River forms the southern boundary of the suburb, with a golf course and a narrow riparian strip reserve.
