Limerick Institute of Technology previously Limerick College of Art, Commerce and Technology became Regional Technical College, Limerick in 1992. A Regional Technical College was planned for Limerick along with the original colleges in 1960s however when National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick was announced the plans were dropped.

The institution is a centre of higher education at Moylish Park in Limerick City, Ireland and offers courses at certificate, diploma and degree level in business, engineering and science as well as other academic disciplines. It also offers courses in modern apprenticeships and adult education.
