Dunamase

The Rock of Dunamase is traditionaly held to be the home of the Seven Septs of Leix, who were the presinding families in that area untill the 1600's. The main families were the Lawlors and the O'Morres. A third family the O'Dempseyes betrayed the Lawlors and the O'Morres. and then swore allegiance to Queen Mary of England. The Rock of Dunamase is in County Laois.
