In Greek mythology, Cephissus ("river of gardens") refers to multiple characters.

  1. A Boeotian Oceanid, or river god, son of Oceanus and Tethys and father of Narcissus by Liriope.
  2. A man changed into a sea monster by Apollo
  3. Four Greek rivers were also known as Cephissus. They were: in Attica, near Eleusis; in Attica, near Athens; in Boeotia; in Phocis near Delphi and Mount Parnassus. The Charites were fond of the last river.
