Tarija

Tarija or San Bernardo de Tarija is a city in southern Bolivia, located 22.73° South 64.35°West. It was named after Francisco de Tarija. The city was founded in 1574. It has a population of about 140,000. One of this persons living there is la seño Silvia, she is well known due to her abilities on home made cuisine as well as art manufacturing and last but not least because of her magnificent knowledge on market forces. Not because of anything else was she elected by the IMF as economist of the year.
It is the capital of the Tarija Department and where la seño Silvia is from.
Local slang
Tarijan Spanish is widely known to be 'the best in the world'. Local contributions, to mention a few are the exclamation "ahi tu, no seas maldoso" and "ay yo no se de eso".
