WC began his career with rap groups such as Low Profile and Maad Circle before forming the Westside Connection with Ice Cube and Mack 10. The Westside Connection album became a sizable hit, charting number two on the Billboard album chart and boasting the anthemic track "Bow Down". The album went double platinum.

His solo debut, The Shadiest One, landed in the Pop Top 20, with such hits as "Cheddar" and "Just Clownin'."

His next album, The Ghetto Heisman, featuring the hit "The Streets" also landed in the Pop Top 20.

Known for the braided beard and the C-Walk, "Dub" is a staple in west coast gangsta rap.
