Political Views
I am a fiscal conservative, and otherwise generally conservative with some libertarian leanings. I am NOT a neocon. I do not believe in globalization. I am distrustful of the UN and believe it serves no benefit to mankind. Communism is one of the worst evils ever brought on man. The amount of people killed under Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Fidel, etc make the Holocaust look small. Socialism is a cancer of western society. I think social justice should come from people's hearts and actions, not putting it in the hands of the government so they never have to think about it. I believe in the right of personal ownership of firearms and am a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment. Besides the fact that criminals always get guns themselves in violation of existing law, restricting gun ownership from ordinary citizens makes women and old men defenseless.
Personal interests
I have interests in Poker, Chess, boxing, and traveling. I've been to 24 countries across 6 continents (S. America is missing).
People I admire (growing)
Ronald Reagan,George Foreman,Anthony Scalia,Clarence Thomas
Views about Wikipedia
I think Wikipedia can be a tremedous source of information, if you are researching something that does not have to do with religion or politics.
With regards to religion or politics on Wikipedia, many people try to present their own POV (point of view) and pass it off as fact. Many of those users also have stated on their user page "I believe strongly in the NPOV policy of Wikipedia."
Their tactics include repeatedly reverting without discussion. See here: [1] No one has refuted my arguements, yet they routinely add back in their propoganda. [2]
An other tactic is to try to move information to less frequented pages. [3] People try to have relevant information moved to another page, so as to present the Iranian election as completely legitimate, where anyone can run.
The other tactic is to try to delete entire pages that do not meet their point of view. [4]
The problem that people don't realize is that over time, strong points of view on pages reduces the global credibility of the wiki project. The founder stated today that they will try to implement stricter editorial rules: [5] which could be good against obvious vandalism as mentioned in the story, but it could create an atmosphere where it is harder to correct subversive claims.
