Andreas Schlüter

Andreas Schlueter was born in 1660 in Danzig (now Gdansk), Poland. He became a famous architect and built many state buildings. His fame brought him to work in Saint Petersburg, were died of an illness. The castle he designed in Berlin was partially destroyed by bombing in World War II and its remains were demolished by the subsequent Communist regime.
