Celestial is Isis' third solo release and first full length.

"...Celestial, for the first time, also shows off the band's feel for dynamics and for less-aggressive, quieter ways of getting their point across..." - All Music Guide [1]

"Isis is not out to blow your doors off, they are out to blow your mind." - Stylus Magazine [2]

The first real glimpse at the power and creativity behind Isis, Celestial combines thick slabs of rusted sludge with decayed, spacey hymns to produce the first part of the blend that the band has become known for. Instead of depending purely on the static bombast of that metal-hardcore hybrid a myriad of bands are attempting now, Isis solder dissonant-yet-clear chords beneath giant walls of distortion with simple, distant-yet-so-immediate passages of bleak, clean revelations of purity - and those are just the guitar tracks.

"... it's an entirely impressive full length from one of the most promising acts of our time." - John Chedsey, Satan Stole My Teddybear [3]

In addition to the regular CD and vinyl LP editions, Celestial is available in a double release, coupled with its sister EP, SGNL>05.

Celestial and SGNL>05 reintroduce the control tower and female character themes; specifically, a central "mother" tower ("Celestial (The Tower)," "Divine Mother"), which is built ("Constructing Towers"), decayed ("Deconstructing Towers"), and finally crumbles ("Divine Mother (The Tower Crumbles)"). As well, the SGNL theme is introduced ("SGNL>01" through "SGNL>05 (Final Transmission)"), and the mosquito (Mosquito Control) is linked through the artwork on both releases.
