SG-1 Theology is a Bit suspect......

They are assuming "ascendancy" is the goal to reach out for....for all life. The Bible actually says the opposite. Angels in the beginning - wanted to enjoy the pleasures and avantages of being human. This was violation of Gods assignment for them....hence they became outcasts. We know them as Demons. So, rather than go "Upwards" - we are the best there is.

Genesis 6:1-2 "Now it came about that when men started to grow in numbers on the surface of the ground and daughters were born to them, then the sons of the [true] God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose.
