Reggio Calabria is the capital of Calabria region in Southern Italy. It has about 100 000 inhabitants, and faces the sea of which on the other side there is the city of Messina. These two cities are distant 20 minutes in the ferry, and are rather united.

The city was devastated in 1903 by a seaquake.
