Langobardia Major was the name that, in early Middle Ages, was given to the domains of the Lombards in northern Italy and Tuscany (Duchy of Tuscany). Was divided into numerous duchies and included the capital of the kingdom of the Lombards, Pavia. In 774 it became part of the Carolingian Empire.
