Savoy Pictures
Savoy Pictures Inc., was a subsidiary production company of Home Box Office that produced and distributed high quality motion pictures theatrically from 1993 to 1996. Victor Kaufman became chairman and chief executive officer of Savoy Pictures in 1992. Among Savoy Pictures noteworthy feature films included "A Bronx Tale", "No Escape", "The Last of the Dogmen" and "Serial Mom". But as the budgets for their films grew and rather poor marketing, Savoy faced a major finanical slump, only three years after being formed. The remaing three years, Savoy released box office failures including "Exit to Eden" and "Getting Away with Murder" and it brought the company to close. Savoy Pictures eventually merged with IAC/Interactive Corporation in 1996, in which Victor Kaufman is also on the board of directors of that enterprise.
