Bill Rodgers (runner)

William Henry "Bill" Rodgers (born December 23, 1947 in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American runner who is best known for his victories in the Boston Marathon and the New York City Marathon in the late 1970s. Rodgers won both races four times each between 1975 and 1980.

Track & Field News ranked Mr. Rodgers #1 in the world in the marathon in 1975, 1977 and 1979.

Mr. Rodgers was inducted on December 3rd, 1999, in Los Angeles, CA to the National Track and Field Hall of Fame located in Indianapolis, IN.

In 1998 Mr. Rodgers was inducted in the first round to the National Distance Running Hall Of Fame in Utica, NY.

28 of the 58 marathons Mr. Rodgers ran were under 2:15.
