Closer (song)
Appearance
This song was written by Trent Reznor for Nine Inch Nails' 1994 release of 'The Downward Spiral', which ended up being one of the band's most influential albums to date. It is often believed that this song, as well as its accompanying music video, resulted in Nine Inch Nails' rise to fame.
The chorus from the Limp Bizkit song "Hotdog" from the band's 2000 album Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water borrowed heavily from "Closer," and the line 'Stick nine inch nails through my eyelids' in the first verse is seen as a nod to the band.
