Jorge Cortell is a strong against Intelectual Property activist.

He used to be an external teacher teaching a master grade on Intellectual Property at the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia. On 2005-05-04 his dimission as a teacher there was forced, after a very critical speech on Intelectual Property. The dean tried to censor the speech without luck (it was finally given at a cafe at the university) ; months after that, he admitted he was pressured by the Spanish Recording Industry Association (Promusicae) in a quote to the national newspaper El Pais, and the MPAA in another newspaper.
