Blaues Wunder

a bridge in Dresden, Germany, connecting Dresden-Blasewitz and Dresden-Loschwitz, two lovely villa quarters.

In the 19th century it was a masterpiece of technology to build such bridge. Today it looks less like a wonder but it is center of romantic innercity places. Normally it was green, but the weather always makes it blue again.

In 1945 different people independently from each other and under danger of death saved the bridge from being destroyed by the Nazis.

The river under the bridge is the home of the worlds biggest paddle steamer fleet.
