Talk:Meat Puppets
Does anyone know the dates of the Pups' SST albums or of their major label stuff? --Anon.
Not offhand, but the SST website (www.sstsuperstore.com) probably has the SST dates.
http://www.allmusic.com does a half-decent job at listing release years for records. Or did you nead the day and month too? -- Paul Drye
No idea on all of the exact dates, but an interesting piece of great 80s indy music trivia is that Meat Puppets 2, Replacements Let it Be and I believe Zen Arcade by Husker Du were all released on the same day, which is like April of 1984. Banner day in music, I would say. Minutemen Double Nickels came out right about the exact same time as well.
cover band?
were they really a cover band, or did the author intend to say that this is how they started? I've always thought the puppets had an extremely unique sound, and i cerrtainly have heard nothing to imply they were covering other punk artists. If they really were a cover band, could someone possibly add a section elaborating on where they got their music form? Honestly though, i just don't believe it. 172.150.177.151 07:33, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

Seriously, who keeps reverting the article? The Meat Puppets BEGAN by playing covers of popular punk rock artists.
