Scott Patterson (born September 11, 1958) is an American actor.

He was born in New Jersey and was a minor league pitcher in the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and Texas Rangers organizations before becoming an actor. He is best known for his role as Luke Danes in the television comedy Gilmore Girls although he has guest-starred in shows such as Will & Grace and Seinfeld (where he was deemed "sponge worthy"). He also likes purple monkeys!
