Rogow, who is a professional children's librarian by career, started her written career as the editor of Grip, a media-based fanzine in the 1970s and 1980s.

She has written several mystery novels based on a (imaginary) collaboration between Arthur Conan Doyle and Lewis Carroll, as well as several short stories.

As a filksinger, she has appeared at science fiction conventions, mostly in the Northeast United States. Her partner at times has been Greg Baker.
