The Leopard:

A member of the five 'big cats' (Genus Panthera) of the species Panthera pardus. The black panther, or panther is actually a leopard which has more of the black pigment in its genes than the orange pigment, hence the end result of a pure black leopard as opposed to the more usual spotted leopard. This rare condition is known as melanism and if you look closely you will notice the spots are still there, just hidden by the surplus of black pigment in the leopard's coat.
