Untitled

Just is an EP by British band Radiohead, released on August 7, 1995. Thom Yorke, Radiohead's frontman wrote the song about a narcissistic friend of his. He also claims that it was somwhat of a competion between him and Jonny Greenwood to see who could fit the most chords into the song.

In the UK, this EP was available as two singles: the first one featured different tracks, and the color of the album art on second EP was inverted (the EP released in the United States featured the same album art as the second album).

Music Video

The music video for Just, is arguably one of the most frustrating music videos out there. Filmed near Liverpool Street Station in London, the video follows a middle-aged man on his way to work. As Radiohead plays their song in a nearby apartment, the man kneels down and lies on the sidewalk. Concerned citizens start to gather, thinking that something must be wrong with him. A heated (subtitled) conversation between the man and the crowd developes as the people start demanding what the man is doing and why he is lying there. In subtitles, the man finally gives in and says "Yes I'll tell you, I'll tell you why I'm lying here... but God forgive me... and God help us all... because you don't know what you ask of me." The camera zooms in on his mouth as the man finally gives the answer, but the subtitles have suddenly stopped, so the reason is not revealed to the viewer. As the camera zooms back out, it shows a sidewalk covered with people- all lying down, just like the man. There have been several guesses as to what the man must have said in order to get everyone to lie down, and several people speculate that he may not have said anything in particular, that Radiohead was only trying to frustrate people. Either way, Thom Yorke has refused to reveal the answer and says he never will. If one looks closely at the man, one will notice that the man is lying on a prosthetic arm. This may have something to do with what he says to the crowd of people.
