Flemming Povlsen
Flemming Povlsen (born December 3, 1966) is a former Danish international football striker. He scored 21 goals in his 62 international appearances, and played at the Template:Ec2 as well as Template:Ec2, a tournament which Denmark won. Flemming Povlsen was declared unfit to play football in March, 1995, as his knee was too weak.
Flemming Povlsen started in local town Viby, but moved on to Aarhus GF in the best Danish divsion, the Danish Superliga, in 1984. In 1986 he was brought to play for CF Castilla, the secondary team of Spanish giants Real Madrid, and Povlsen got his international debut for Denmark in the 5-0 win over Greece in an 1988 Olympic Games qualifier. After only a year at Castilla, Povlsen moved to 1.FC Köln in Germany, Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in 1989, before he finally settled down in Germany at Borussia Dortmund in 1990. Here he played until his knee injury forced him to retire.
