Thanks for the note on my talk page; the depth of Wikipedia and its community continues to amaze me :). However, after reading about the U.S. Regions group, I'm a bit confused at what they actually do. Since the region pages seem to have been created already, I'm not quite sure what a team of people would be needed for. Bamos 16:47, 18 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Best Typo Ever
Your edit yesterday on User talk:Acegikmo1 had the funniest typo I've ever seen on Wikipedia. Thanks for the laugh. →Raul654 18:10, Mar 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Your very welcome. I'm glad someone can find my occasional incompetence as amusing as I do. :)

Briefly on line here. Go ahead with the regions thing without me. & thanks for your wishes on my health. I'm now able to walk and can sit for a while if I don't try to sit still. It will be a bit before I do much on line... -- Jmabel 03:54, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- You are quite welcome, I will look forward to our continued collaborations.

I think what you are proposing is commendable, but I really am not going to be a very active participant in the US Regions project. I'll keep half an eye on it & speak up if I see anything I think is wrongheaded, but this area isn't a very strong interest of mine. I signed on early when you seemed very short on people, but there are a lot of other areas (Argentine intellectual history, for example, or almost anything to do with Romania) where I seem to be all alone, or (Socialism, Conservatism, etc.) where I seem to be one of very few trying to keep this an encyclopedia rather than a debating society, and I think those are better uses of my time. -- Jmabel 21:58, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)
JC, thanks for expanding my short list of hosptials. BTW, have you noted your areas of interest and expertise on the List of Wikipedians by fields of interest? --Rj 20:13, Apr 11, 2004 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm trying to concentrate on non-contoversial topics at the moment, such as (hopefully) a list of hospitals. I'll probaly add my interests to List of Wikipedians by fields of interest eventually but I am currently trying to boost the number of my main space edits, so it will probably be a little while.

Thanks for noticing that the link on James L. Farmer, Jr. actually referred to his father. I'm not sure what I was thinking. -- Wmahan. 06:19, 2004 Apr 12 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it, if you check your list of artciles with common grammtical errors you'll find many of my artiles listed there. In the words of Alexander Pope "To err is human." I also have the home court advantage; of living in Marshall, Texas, being a memeber of the local historical museum, and countless Black History Month Programs at school, and living 15 blocks north of James Farmer Street.

Nzinga
I noticed some conversational notes between you and another contributor regarding your article on Queen Nzinga. I also noticed that you indicated that you'd found several variant spellings, including "NZinga." Though this probably doesn't impact your research at all, I thought I'd let you know. that if you found this spelling on a sorority website, it was a typo and should have been "Nzinga." To my knowledge, there is no variety in which the "Z" is capitalized.
- I would prefer it if you would not delete comments off my talk page, even your own. However this is not a violation in wiki policy, I simply prefer to have all comments posted on my talk page at my disposal. I do not beleive that NZinga appears in the articles text, I am quite sure that I did not create a redirect for it either. I appreciate your deligence though.
- As to Nzinga being a title, I have never heard of it being used in that manner. Only the title of Ngola, though I have realized that Nzinga is also part of her brother's title/name. Might I suggest that you look up that reference and then include in the latter part of the article as Dr. So and So said this in so and so. This way you can add the information to the article with out changeing the accuracy or neutrality of the article, as a matter of fact adding it in that manner could only improve the article.

Thanks for letting me know about the IP. It looks to me like a test edit though, since it was reverted so fast after they made it. - Hephaestos|§ 22:28, 16 May 2004 (UTC)
Your Marshall pages
In case you're interested, I've got a nice collection of Marshall pictures and we're also trying to piece together a history of the Ginocchio District. You should be able to figure out my real address ;) My e-mail is [email protected] -- Kar98 10:46, May 17, 2004 (UTC)
Marhsall, Texas
I went through the Marshall, Texas article and made several minor stylistic changes. You can view my modifications here. The article was a very interesting read. I especially liked the sections on the history of the city. My only suggestion is that you get someone who's well-informed about Marshall to review the article for substance. I was really only able to check on style because I'm uninformed. If you can get someone knowledgeable to ensure accuracy and completeness, I think that the article would be a good candidate for Wikipedia:Featured articles. Thanks for asking me to review the page.
Acegikmo1 02:36, 18 May 2004 (UTC)
- I figured that you were an expert on Marshall, so I never really doubted the accuracy of the article. I just wanted to mention that I really wouldn't be able to spot any errors in information. I decided to include the suggestion that you seek out someone who is well-informed to also review the article for two reasons. First, it can be helpful to have an expert with a different perspective go though the article. Second, it ensures that nothing is left out. In any case, thanks again for pointing me to the article.
- Thanks for your comments on my talk page :-). I'd like to offer you congratulations as well for your Marshall, Texas article gaining Featured Article status after receiving unanimous support on the candidates page. Nice work!
- Thanks!

I too looked through it and it looks good to go to me. I don't have much experience of the featured articles process, but what little I do have leads me to advice you just to list it on the candidates page. Lot's of people will probably voice objections. You address those objections, fix the things they suggest until everyone is happy and it'll get moved to the "no objections" section. Then somtime in the future it'll get it's day in the sun. theresa knott 08:47, 18 May 2004 (UTC)
Translations
Hi :) thanks for the message! my aim in wikipedia is to exchange knowledge, more specifically about Portugal and its former colonies. I’m not bilingual, I just speak other languages has foreigner languages. My Portuguese is above the average, but I cannot say that I'm an expert, because Portuguese is a tricky language. About Portuguese wikipedia having so few pages, is a really that one cannot deny, I’m interested in translating pages that I know are very useful, or at least interesting for me to learn, while I translate. I'm currently consulting Portuguese wikipedia to get info about Portugal and translating Portuguese language article and soon Portuguese Creole. Many translations are a colossal amount of work, and I have not that time available. I’ve worked a lot in some articles, mostly because of curiosity, I’m very curious about some things. But I can translate back and foward other things. The wiki is also useful for me, because I can practice English, a language that like French, I was forgotting. hugs --Pedro 02:17, 28 May 2004 (UTC)

Looks like it's working... maybe the servers were throwing a minor wobbly. - MykReeve 20:16, 29 May 2004 (UTC)
