Woggle-Bug
The Wogglebug is a character in the Oz books by L. Frank Baum. He first appears in the book The Marvelous Land of Oz. H.M. stands for Highly Magnified, and T.E. for Thoroughly Educated.
The Wogglebug was once a regular insect, who lived in a schoolhouse, and would listen in on the lessons. One day the teacher caught him and decided to use him for an impromptu lesson on wogglebugs. His magnified image was projected on the wall, and he has remained magnified ever since.
The Wogglebug is very proud of his education. He founded and runs the Oz College of Arts and Athletics. He also invented the knowledge pills, pills that give a student knowledge without having to attend lessons, so that the student's time can be applied to more enjoyable activities.
In illustrations he is often depicted wearing bright colors and several pairs of glasses on his elongated proboscis.
