Slovaks

The Slovaks are a western Slavic ethnic group that primarily inhabits Slovakia and speaks the Slovak language.

There are approximately 5 million autochtonous Slovaks in Slovakia, around 300,000 in the Czech Republic, around a hundred thousand in Hungary, around 80,000 in Serbia, around 20,000 in Romania and in Poland, and smaller minorities in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia, Russia.

There are also around half a million emigrants to the USA and around 20,000 in Canada. There are some Slovak emigrants in Australia and some other countries.
