The Patriot Guard is a group of veterans, motorcyclists, and others, originally organized in Kansas, who make it a practice to attend the funerals of members of the U.S. armed forces killed in Iraq, as invited guests of the family. Each mission has two objections: 1.) show sincere respect for fallen heroes, their families, and their communities and 2.) shield the mourning family and friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors such as Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church.
