Nick Dear is a British play and screen writer, whose work includes an adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera and the drama Henry VIII for ITV, which starred Ray Winstone in the title role. His play Power was first performed in 2003 by the National Theatre, and deals with the intrigue and tension of the court of the young Louis XIV of France.
