2010: Odyssey Two, is a book by Arthur C. Clarke and the basis for a motion picture by Peter Hyams titled "2010: The Year We Make Contact". The book is the sequel to "2001: A Space Odyssey". For both the book and the movie, the story is set nine years after the Discovery mission to Jupiter failed. A joint Soviet-American crew on the Soviet spaceship Leonov arrives to discover what went wrong and to unravel the mysteries behind the monolith in orbit around the planet.

Considering the impact of 2001, this sequel is considered by many to be a disapointment. However, as a movie on its own, it is also considered to be quite good. The novel and movie do have some differences, most importantly the absence of the Chinese ship in the movie.
