Isis is the most important goddess in Egyptian mythology who transferred from a local goddess in nile delta to a cosmic goddess allover whole ancient world.Isis name is still untill now a beloved name among modern coptic egyptians and in Europe the name (Isadora)i.e. Gift of Isis is still common.

Modern man can not ignore action and interaction between many cultures in Near East at ancient and modern times. We can know characters of the Goddess from the famous book by Plutarch known as Isis and Osiris which cosidered the main source of this mythological story though great mistakes in many points of the discussion but I think Apuleius story titled (the transformations of Lucius)gives us better understanding of Isis in the first century which was critical in development of christianity. We must read carefully this paragraph ( You see me here Lucius,in answer to your prayer.I am nature, the universal Mother, mistress of all the elements, primordial child of time, sovereign of all things spiritual, queen of the dead, queen also of the immortals, the single manifestation of all gods and goddesses that are,my nod governs the shining heights of Heavens, the wholesome sea breezes. though I am worshipped in many aspects, known by countless names..some know me as Juno, some as Bellona...etc the Egyptians who excel in ancient learning and worship call me by my true name..Queen Isis.
