In the Sonic the Hedgehog series of video games by SEGA, Black Arms are an alien race. They appear in the game Shadow the Hedgehog. They invaded Planet Earth for search of the seven Chaos Emeralds. Black Doom is in charge of the Black Arms.

Black Doom

The leader of Black Arms, Black Doom is the force behind the invasion of planet Earth. He apparently had a now-forgotten deal with Shadow the Hedgehog to retrieve the seven Chaos Emeralds, and he now (apparently) promises to help Shadow find the truth about his past in exchange for them. It is later found out that Black Doom helped create Shadow in a deal with Gerald Robotnik and used some of his own DNA for Shadow so he is Shadow's only known biological relative. The DNA he used was the very blood he possessed. This explains Shadow's color, as well as his immortality.

Doom's Eye

Doom's Eye

Black Doom can remove his third eye(the top most) and will guide Shadow in many of his Dark missions. Doom's Eye does not actively do very much exept collect rings and offer advice(and commands). It acts as a communicator between Shadow and Black Doom, allowing Black Doom to give advice during the Dark missions and sometimes even projecting an image of Black Doom.

Black Army

In addition to Black Doom and Doom's Eye, there are other aliens composing the army invading the Earth. In gameplay, they will attack Shadow, even if Shadow attempts to complete one of Black Doom's missions. Members of the army including the Black Warriors, Black Orcs and Black Worms. The following is gives the full listing of the Black Arms.

Death Leeches (Offspring)

The Death Leeches are described by Black Doom as the Black Arms' offspring, meaning that there must be male and female aliens (or that they reproduce asexually). Death Leeches are pulsating purple blobs with horns and one eye in the middle of their bodies, a grotesque form for any creature. They are simple to defeat, but a lot of them in one place can be irritating.

Black Warriors

The Black Warriors are the most common Black Arms aliens players will see throughout the game. They are normal sized and each carry different Black Arm weapons (guns, swords, shields, etc.). The ones with shields are called Black Infantries (not confirmed).

Black Giant

The Black Giants are giant Black Arms. According to Doom's Eye, the Black Giants are "heralded for their pure strength" and form the core of the Black Arms army. They have high HP and carry swords. They are slow moving, but are difficult to defeat with weak weapons. The Hammer Oaks attack with cannons and hammers, and can block all guns (even the ultra-powerful Shadow Rifle) by blocking with their palms. They also have big hairy asses.

Black Arms Annelids

The Black Arms Annelids are giant worms that appear in some stages. They burrow underground and attack from beneath, using smaller worms that home in on their prey. (According to Doom's Eye, the worms accomplish this by detecting their target's vital signs.) The most common are called Sand Worms. There are also Black Comet-exclusive ones called Death Worms and Gold Worms (see below for Gold Worms in Gold Annelids). They also look like giant penises ejeculating blue semen.

Killer Plant

The Killer Plant is a giant plant lifeform which can breathe fire and go into an oval-like shape sometimes. First appears in the 3rd stage Prison Island. It breathes out fire and also extends its branches (which seem to be its body). Defeating it only makes it shrink into a harmless bud temporaily, and it does not add to your score at all. Also, it comes back to attack you again if you do not move on.

Gold Annelids

The Gold Annelids are stronger, golden Black Arm Annelids. They appear only on the stages The Last Way and Black Comet. Their power levels compared to Normal or Black Annelids have yet to be discovered.

Black Wing

The Black Wing is a small bat-like creature similar to Black Hawks. They are much weaker.

Black Hawk

Black Hawk

The Black Hawks are small winged dragons that can be used as vehicles to fly around in certain parts of the game. The Black Hawks with golden armor are known as Black Volts and allow players to shoot as Shadow rides them.

Black Volt

The Black Volts are the most powerful flying Black Arm. These creatures are like Black Hawks but are covered in gold and can shoot worms from their mouths

Black Assassin(also known as Elite Soldiers)

The Black Assassins only appear in the Black Comet and Final Haunt stages. They have high HP and have the ability to disappear and reappear, which may be the ability of Chaos Control. They also carry a useful, red laser gun, which, in the game's manual, is called the "Refractor". Other than that, they aren't that much different from the Black arms soldiers.

Black Bull

The Black Bull seems to be one of the most powerful in the Black Arms and either Black Doom's right-hand or his own personal pet. He resembles a cross between a giant maggot and a dragon. His weak spot is his eye and can breath fire. Also, Sonic said that he can "spit out" Black Wings.

Black Weaponry and Vehicles

Black Hawks

The Black Hawks are small winged dragons can be used as vehicles to fly around in certain parts of the game, once. Black Hawks are unable to fire weapons of their own, but Shadow has control over them.

Black Volts

The Black Volts are the most powerful flying Black Arm. They are the same as Black Hawks, but they wear gold armor and can fire miniature worms.

Air Saucers

The Air Saucers are floating discs that belong to the Black Arms which Shadow may use to cross hazardous surfaces, such as toxic water.

Black Cannons

The Black Cannons are powerful alien cannons that can be used to destroy things such as ships. Mounted on the top of the cannon is a gun which Shadow can find seperately.

Tankships

The Tankship is a large Black Arms battleship. They usually appear in Black Comet stages, and enemies can spawn from them. In "The Last Way", ailens will indefinitely spawn from them as you destroy them, allowing you to fill your Hero Gauge, teleport through the level with Chaos Control, and proceed. Destroying them in other stages generally opens a door to the next room (depending on the Mission).

Black Tank

Shown in the Lethal Highway stage, this vehicle resembles a Stealth Bomber. It must be destroyed to complete the Hero mission. This is made difficult by the fact that it is surrounded by a shield that takes many hits to destroy. It also is able to drop bombs in order to obscure (Read: Destroy) your path.

Black Comet

Template:Spoiler The Black Comet is a comet that passes by the Earth every 50 years and the home of the Black Arm aliens, or possibly a mode of transport. During the time the Black Comet passes by the Earth, the Black Arms fulfill another part of their plan. 50 years prior to the events of the game, Black Doom made a pact with Dr. Gerald Robotnik in order to create the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow, this would help Gerald in his research and Black Doom in his quest to collect the 7 chaos emeralds. 50 years later when the Black Comet passed by the Earth again and during the beginning of the game, the aliens begin their mission to collect the 7 chaos emeralds and invade the Earth.

The Black Comet's velocity isn't fast enough to make it through the Earth's atmosphere, so at the end of the game, Black Doom uses the Chaos Emeralds to "Chaos Control" the comet down to Earth.

The Black Comet is eventually destroyed along with all the Black Arms inside it at the end of the game by the Eclipse Cannon, the main armament of the Space Colony ARK.

Inside the Black Comet are strange objects that look suspiciously like the "limbs" of the Biolizard. It can be suspected that there's a connection. They have large eggs in the comet, where the eggs of Black Doom's spawn are. On the planet and in the comet are strange plants.
