Re:friendly vandalism

I was on recent changes (RC) patrol, basically checking new edits for possible vandalism, testing gone wrong, and other things that need fixing. If possible I pay particular attention to people's userpages as vandals often post personal attacks against vandal-fighters, and there usually arn't many good reasons for other people to edit them (apart from minor spelling and code fixes).

The edit summary is a standard one (well my modified version of the standard one) produced by a semi-automatic tool, popups, which makes reverting edits (among other things) a bit easier. The number is a rather unhelpful reference to an edit version, that I kept in the edit summary as a way for people to refer to a particular edit I made (see the conversation called "Edit summary" on my talk page).

Anyway hope you both enjoy editing Wikipedia, feel free to ask me any other questions you might have. Petros471 23:49, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To create a new redirect from diffrent spelling of the page title, create a new article with the 'mispelling' and insert #REDIRECT [[NAME OF PAGE 2]] (see here as an example). Full help on redirects can be found at Wikipedia:Redirect and Help:Redirect.

If you are simply trying to link from an article to another article, but display a diffrent name then use a piped link (if you click on edit for this section you can see I just used one). You can link to article sections using the format Help:Piped link#SECTION TITLE. Petros471 14:34, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
