George Younce

George Younce was an American singer, born February 22, 1930 at Patterson, North Carolina; he died April 11, 2005.

He was the master of ceremonies and bass singer for the famous Cathedral Quartet. The quartet was organized in 1964 in Akron, Ohio at the Cathedral of Tomorrow, pastored by televangelist Rex Humbard.

He earlier had sung with the Spiritulaires (1945), The Watchmen (1954), Homeland Harmony Quartet (1955), The Weatherfords (1956), and The Blue Ridge Quartet (1957). (The group "The Watchmen" was a Southern Gospel quartet, not the same group as the group discussed in this Wikipedia article: The Watchmen.)

George Younce also sang for a brief period with thr OLD friends Quartet where he did some wonderful singing with Jake Hess and son in law Ernie Haase
