Disney Channel France (or Disney Channel) is the French language edition of the Disney Channel, owned by the Walt Disney Company. It was launched in March 1997, primarily on the CanalSat platform.

On November 2, 2000, the portfolio of Disney-branded channels in France expanded from one to four channel with the launch of Toon Disney, Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior), and Disney Channel +1. The movie channel Disney Cinemagic and its accompanying timeshift channel launched in September 2007, replacing Toon Disney.[1]

On April 1, 2011, Disney Channel France is launched on the adsl ( Freebox ; Neufbox ; Livebox ; Bbox ).

On April 19, 2011, Disney and Free launched a VoD system on Freebox called Disneytek[2]

In addition to the animated programmes, the French Disney Channel used to feature a show with human hosts called Zapping Zone. It was cancelled in 2004.

Logos

When launched in 1997, Disney Channel France adopted the same logo and idents as Disney Channel UK. It adopted a new identity package by Gedeon in March 1999. In 2003, Disney Channel France also adopted Disney Channel US' new logo and idents. In 2011, Disney Channel International new logo and idents.
