Stacey Kent is a jazz singer.

Kent grew up in New York and graduated from Sarah Lawrence college. She moved to England after her graduation, where she studied at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. While there, she met her future husband, Jim Tomlinson.

Her first CD, "Close Your Eyes," was released in 1997. Since then, she has released five CDs: "The Tender Trap" (1999), "Let Yourself Go" (2000), "Dreamsville" (2001), "In Love Again" (2002), and "The Boy Next Door" (2003).

She won the 2001 British Jazz Award and the 2002 BBC Jazz Award for Best Vocalist. She presents Jazz programmes for BBC Radio 2 and 3.
