Riley Park, Vancouver

Riley Park-Little Mountain is a neighbourhood in Vancouver. It's boundries are 41st Avenue in the South, 16th Avenue in the North, Cambie Street in the West and Fraser Street in the East.

Parks

Little Mountain is the former name of a quarry located at, what is now, Queen Elizabeth Park. The quarry gardens at the park are some of the most popular in Vancouver, and in the summer time are filled with Asian tourists. There is a golf course and a disc golf course at Queen Elizabeth Park. There is also a fancy restraunt called Seasons in the Park.

Sports

Nat Bailey Stadium home of the Vancouver Canadians is located in the Riley Park-Little Mountain Neighbourhood. Near the stadium is Hilcrest Park, where the 55 year old little league Little Mountain Baseball has it's ballparks, and Clubhouse. They also use ballparks at Riley Park for the younger age groups. Also at Hilcrest park are two larger diamonds used by Vancouver Community Baseball. During the soccer season the ballparks are converted to be used as soccer fields.

Also at Hilcrest Park is the Vacouver Curling Club. It is curently on the south west courner of the park in an small building, and only has 5 sheets. With the olympics coming to Vancouver the VCC will be getting a new facility, with expanded facilities.

Riley Park Community Center

The Riley Park Commmunity Center has a puplic pool and a public ice rink, along with other facilities. It is being torn down to prepare for the 2010 olympics. Lots of new facilities will be added, like a new ice rink, swimming pool, etc.
