A lepadomorpha, according to Answers.com, is "a suborder of barnacles in the order Thoracica having a peduncle and a capitulum which is usually protected by calcareous plates."[1][2]

Taxonomy

The term "Barnacles" is a simplification of anatifère which itself was formed from the Latin anas , the term for ducks . Several other terms used in taxonomy have also derived as Anatiféracé , Anatifériforme . These terms are considered obsolete.
