Prince George was a caracature of the historical figure Prince George, played by Hugh Laurie in series 3 of the popular BBC sit-com Blackadder. The real Prince George(1762-1830) reigned as Prince Regent (1811-1820) during his Father, King George III's final illness, and as King George IV after his Father's death in 1820 untill his own death.

In Blackadder, George was portrayed as a young, loud, buffoon, who spent money extravagantly. George was created as something of a replacement for Blackadder's annoying idiot of a sidekick Lord Percy, who had accompanied Blackadder and Baldrick in the fisrt two series, after Tim McInnery neglected to appear in the role. If it is possable, George was even stupider than Percy. He did not understant the concept of 'acting' and at the end of a performance of Shakespeare's 'Julius Ceaser' demanded that someone arrest the actor playing Brutus, having shouted 'Look behind you, Mr Ceaser!' in the murder scene. It also took him two weeks to put on a pair of trousers by himself, and even then they were on his head.

According to the show, the real George was shot dead by around 1815, and replaced by his butler, Mr Blackadder, who, by waering Georges wig and coat, was apparently indistinguishable from the real Prince.
