Risca is a small town in Caerphilly County Borough, Wales, UK. It has a rural aspect, and is surrounded by several wooded hills including Twmbarlwm (419 m) and Mynydd Machen (362 m).

Some extensive mountain bike trails exist just to the north of the town, at Cwmcarn.

The population of Risca is approximately 15,000.

Nearest city is Newport (5 miles). Cardiff, the capital of Wales is 14 miles away.

Easiest way to reach Risca is by M4 motorway to junction 28, then head north.
