The term bi-curious means to have a strong desire to have a sexual encounter with a member of the sex which one is not generally attracted to, but one does not consider oneself to be or yet to be bisexual. For instance, if one is a heterosexual female and one is strongly curious about having sex with another female, one could consider herself bi-curious. Or as another example, a homosexual male could consider himself bi-curious if he constantly has romantic fantasies about a female. The term bi-curious is used to specify a person with bisexual "tendencies" or desires, but who doesn't identify themselves as bisexual. Bi-curiousity can be just a stage in a person's life where one is curious about another sexual orientation or a stage in life right before making a transition from one sexual orientation to another. Typically, bi-curious refers to a straight person who has bisexual "tendencies" or desires, but it can also apply to a homosexual who is bi-curious.
