All American Homes has a plant in Dyersville. This company builds homes in a factory setting. These homes are built in a number of parts. When these parts are finished, the parts are transported to the final assembly site, where they are placed upon a foundation that was previously laid, and put together. The houses the company builds are similar to traditional homes, and may be indistinguishable from a home built entirely on site. On the factory site, there are usually several demonstration homes available for the public to view.

The movie Field of Dreams was filmed near Dyersville. When production completed, the baseball diamond created for the movie was left behind. The field straddled the property line between two farms; most of the field, including the diamond, was on one property, while left and center field were on the other. Immediately after filming, the family that owned the majority of the field kept it open, selling souvenirs to tourists.

The other family, however, returned its portion of the field to farming for a year. They then restored their portion of the field, and opened up a rival souvenir shop. The two families still maintain separate tourist facilities, and have been at odds for years over the attraction.
