Apache Mall is the largest enclosed shopping space in Rochester, Minnesota. It was built in 1972 at the intersection of U.S. Route 52 and U.S. Route 14. Anchor stores are Sears, J.C. Penney, Herberger's, and Marshall Field's (formerly Dayton's; soon to be Macy's). It also has a large Barnes & Noble bookstore, which many consider to be the "5th" anchor.
