Icons (TV series)
Icons is a documentary TV show on G4 that used to focus on the history of a video game franchise, a video game company, a video game genre, a video game character, a video game console, notable moment in video game history, or a notable person in the video game industry. It was revamped in 2006, and now focuses on pop culture and things that the new G4 demographic would enjoy.
In December 2005, the editor for Icons announced on the G4 forums that he had been fired, and that G4 was retooling the show for 2006. While it hasn't been officially announced by the network, Variety.com got an exclusive scoop, saying: "The Biography-style skein has been revamped to focus on figures that appeal to young men, including J.J. Abrams and Bryan Singer". This had been suspected, due to the recent episodes about George A. Romero and King Kong.
