Singh home Discussion

McPhail is vandaliser, my information comes from http://www.longestyard.com/longestyard.php under

MEET THE CAST

That's where you can find the correct information for Dalip Singh.

I'll keep changing the page back! Try (Personal attack removed)!

WTF you guys delete the fact that he is an actor?? He been in the longest yard movie, and will be in other movies soon. (Personal attack removed)!!!

ALSO, that Brain Ong article is lame, and biased.

Singh peformed the spinebuster on the trainers, coaches, and nobody got hurt. Brain Ong had a suffered a concussion before, and should have never been allowed to wrestle, or train in the ring.

ROCKMANX(t) 04:01, April 11, 2006 (UTC)

Don't mark the page as "protected", it's only sprotected. Also, try to keep it a little more neutral-sounding; "Singh is very religious" shouldn't have the "very" there, and "His goal in life is to support his family and aid the entire village that is his home" sounds unverifiable and should probably be backed up by an external reference showing this goal of his made public. The article should start actually using references to verify statements in it, also. –Tifego(t) 09:11, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For your "external reference showing this goal of his made public" :P

Huh, ROCKMANX stole my sig... Or something. Some of his edits are confusing me. –Tifego(t) 21:28, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I keep seeing RockmanX make a bunch of edits with no description [1][2], followed by McPhail making one (relatively) large edit with something like "(cleanup)" as the description [3][4], and both undoing each other's edits repeatedly (albeit slowly) in this manner. They really ought to start discussing this on this talk page instead of just reverting back and forth like this. –Tifego(t) 04:49, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realise it was an edit war. Singh has been in one film; this is not enough to identify him as an actor. Singh is from Himachal Pradesh, not Punjab (India). McPhail 14:38, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it wasn't exactly an "edit war" but it was starting to turn into one, it's hard to find the useful edits being made among the back-and-forth. Your points sound reasonable, what about his height though? It is fluctuating between 7 ft 1, 7 ft 2, and 7 ft 3 in the article. –Tifego(t) 18:38, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Even formal news sources are equally inconsistent. Given the propensity of both Hollywood and the wrestling industry to exaggerate physical attributes, the smallest figures are probably the closest to the mark. Of course, he may have medical conditions that cause his height to fluctuate. McPhail 19:27, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We just need to wait until he has an eye to eye with the Big Show, if we all agree Show is 7ft, then we'll get a good guestimate from that. In the segment with Davari tho, it looked to me like he was wearing lifts.(Halbared 11:35, 15 April 2006 (UTC))[reply]

The man is from Punjab, and has been living there the majority of his life. He is Punjabi. Himachal Pradesh was part of Punjab in history as well. You stupid racist vandals keep changing the facts, and don't bother reading the website links, or searching on google.

"Unique in his giant-sized 7' 2" stance, wrestler DALIP SINGH commands attention amongst all people in every part of the world. He was born into a poor family in the village of Dhirana in Himachal Pradesh of Punjab, India and is the third of eight siblings. At a young age, he earned a daily wage as a roadside stone breaker to help provide for his family."

He is from Dhirana, which is in Himachal Pradesh, which is in Punjab region. You stated that he was from Dhirana, Punjab (India), which is wrong. McPhail 19:20, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is not wrong, it is on the LONGEST YARD website. TRY READING SOMETIME!!!

ROCKMANX

He is from Dhirana, which is in Himachal Pradesh, which is in Punjab region. You stated that he was from Dhirana, Punjab (India), which is wrong. There are two Punjabs in India. Singh is from one; he is not from the other. McPhail 20:09, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't state anything it's on the freaking webpage man. I just coping and pasting what's on there. Learn to read sometime.

ROCKMANX

In this edit you incorrectly asserted that Singh was from "the village of Dhirana in Punjab (India)". This was wrong. You were wrong. I corrected you. McPhail 20:45, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are wrong, stop correcting me. McPhail - Direct Quote from Thelongestyard.com

The Longest Yard website is NOT that reliable of a source. - NightShade

====================

I'm from Punjab you dumbass! The village Dhirana is in Punjab. I was just copying pasting what's on the longestyard.com. Himachal Pradesh is in the region of Punjab India. To not mention Punjab is wrong.

"Village of Dhirana in Himachal Pradesh of Punjab, India"

"WWF Mania Grips 'Giant' Punjab Cop"

STOP FREAKING EDITING IT, IT IS A STATED FACT.

DAIVARI WENT ON TV AND SAID HE WAS FROM THE PUNJAB JUNGLES!

STOP VANDALISING MCPHAIL!!!!

RockmanX 05:04, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Punjab is a historical region, not an existing legal entity. Singh is from the village of Dhirana in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The "Punjab Cop" article refers to the state of Punjab, not the region of Punjab. Singh is from the state of Himachal Pradesh, but at some point relocated to the state of Punjab in order to work as a police officer. The fact that both Himachal Pradesh and Punjab lie within the greater Punjab region is irrelevant to this article. McPhail 18:19, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In the name of compromise, I've edited the article to reflect the fact that he is from the greater Punjab region. McPhail 23:33, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're full of it. You're not from Punjab. And by the way, Kayfabe statements are NOT reliable sources of information. And Punjab is a legal entity. It is a state in India. Also a province in Pakistan. Punjab_(India) NightShade

That is a different Punjab. Singh is not from the state of Punjab, he is from the state of Himachal Pradesh. Kindly do some research before embarrasing yourself. McPhail 22:24, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I never said he WAS. I was merely pointing out that Punjab IS a legal entity. Read correctly before you try to be witty, and embarass yourself NightShade 02:08, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is no differnt Punjab, Punjab is entire region in India, and Pakistan.

no spoilers from SD! unless posted on WWE.com

Please don't post his name on the article until posted on WWE.com/US TV as with the Champions BionicWilliam 20:58, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, it can be seen as a "spoiler", but it's not that big of a deal as compared to posting title changes and PPV cards before they've even been confirmed by the WWE. The Phenomenal One 05:04, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Singh's Height

He is taller than that. He's taller than the big show. He's about 7'2" and 389 lbs. And the Undertaker's hieght is 6'8" and 289 lbs

This is all purely speculative without credible sources. The media gives his height as anything from 7'0" to 7'3". McPhail 22:30, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know, Undertaker wears 1 to 1.4 inch platforms. Singh seems to wear normal boots which give just about a rise of 0.3 to 0.5 inches. I'm pretty certain Singh is at least 7 feet, and at least as tall as Paul Wight, the Big Show. --Ifrit 00:03, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it looked like Singh might be wearing platforms too when he made his debut.(84.65.10.61 17:03, 2 May 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Picture

I reverted the pic that used to be on his page back to the fair use image because I do not believe that RockmanX created that particular picture. The picture is actually from the Photos section of Dalip Singh's official WWE profile, and therefore is a copyrighted image that is not considered as fair use. Unless proof is shown that contradicts this claim, please do not revert pic. The Styles Clash 08:30, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Err, I made the pic dummy,

GFDL SELF-MADE

If it was copyrighted then wikipedia would remove it automatically.

Your not the mod here are you?

I also made the other pic you were reverting back to as well. LOL!

ROCKMANX

I somehow doubt you made the pic that is on there now since it is from his profile on WWE.com, and if it is indeed true that you actually made it, I want to see some proof and it should be cited on the image's page. I am aware that you "made" the other pic as well, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere else. Wikipedia doesn't always automatically remove pics that are in copyright violation, but rather people can post what they find to be in violation here. The Styles Clash 08:15, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Leave the Pic alone, I made it stupid. YOU ARE NOT A MOD! I took a screen capture, and made it so bite me! If you take that pic down, you might as well take the other pic down as well, and make pictureless. I made all the pics for dalip singh!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
