- User:BDAbramson/Archive - Articles contains discussions relating to all other Wikipedia articles.
- User:BDAbramson/Archive - Deletion contains discussions relating to AfD votes, policies, and mechanics.

- User:BDAbramson/Archive - Miscellaneous contains discussions relating to everything else (thank you's, screw you's, my signature, jokes, comments, etc).
- I archive frequently - if you post a comment here, do not be surprised if it has been put away by the next day. I reserve the right to delete frivolous posts.
- My archiving is entirely done by the cut and paste method. If you're looking for the edit history of a comment in my archives, it will be in the edit history of this page.
Thank you for welcoming me just now. Impressive reaction time you've got, since I'd only set the name up about 15 minutes before. I've been editing for about 2 years under another name; felt like a change. I look forward to your speedy archiving of this note! Pilcrow 16:55, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- Think I'll let this one sit for a while, now that I'm off my Wikibreak. Cheers! BDAbramson T 16:59, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Wikibreak
Welcome back from your break. Now you can go back to doing ten times as many edits as I do, instead of just twice as many ;-). NoSeptember talk 17:01, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'll get right on it. :-) BDAbramson T 17:03, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I just got some welcome messages from you. Thanks. --Ashycool 17:12, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism
Would you please consider a block on this user: [1] for repeated vandalism to Bill Clinton today? Kukini 14:00, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Puerto Rico and US Income tax
Can anyone add PR income tax to the IRS or US income tax article? John wesley 15:31, 28 April 2006 (UTC) Puerto Rico is USA because native borns are citizens by birth and can Constitutionally assume the office of the president. John wesley 15:31, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- Don't know much about it, except that Puerto Rico has a mirror system, so its residents pay the same amount of taxes, but the proceeds go to the P.R. gov't. BDAbramson T 15:35, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
I saw that you've worked on the Bill Ritter (politician) article, and would like to encourage you to support it in the USCOTW elections. Thank you, Editor19841 22:52, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
On The Seals
I just thought that you'd be in a better position to judge what is and is not "fair use", seeing as how your are a professional intellectual property lawyer and all. I do question though, the idea that those institutions actually can sue wikipedia. I find it especially absurd that they would even have a case, since you were highlighting them as an alumnus in a positive light. In any event, I think your page looked nicer with the seals. BTW, why isn't it "fair-use" to use "fair-use" stuff on a private, non-profit userpage? Why would a company even waste it's time suing? This policy just seems needlessly broad (I wish our servers were in California, I find the 9th Circuit seems to issue more common sense rulings). --Dragon695 23:24, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

- BDA, you lost your seals? We can't have that! I award you some non-Florida seals to replace your Florida seals :-). NoSeptember talk 23:41, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- In my opinion (as an IP lawyer), my use on my user page of the seals representing the University and program from which I graduated constitutes a fair use, as they are intended to educate the user as to my affiliation with those things. The AmeriCorps logo, quite frankly, should be in the public domain, having been designed on behalf of the U.S. government. However, I am not wedded to stability - I'll find images that are inarguably in the public domain... or better yet, I'll hold a contest: Whosoever shall suggest the best image for use on my userpage shall win the coveted Golden Blarney Award, which I just made up, and which will also be in the public domain once I figure out what one looks like. Images must be no bigger than 200 px. square. This offer has no cash value. Cheers! BDAbramson T 01:53, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Please keep in mind that the governing issue here isn't just copyright law. It is also the Wikimedia Foundation's policy, which explicitly prevents the use of fair use images in userspace. Quoting WP:FUC #9: "All other uses, even if legal under the fair use clauses of copyright law, should be avoided to keep the use of unfree images to a minimum". If anyone wishes to change this policy, then by all means please do by petitioning the foundation. I have no wedded interest in preventing fair use images from existing in userspace except to follow the foundation's policy that they feel is best suited to protecting them against copyright claims. If they should change their stance such that fair use images were allowed in userspace, it would be fine with me and I would not longer remove them from userspace. --Durin 02:56, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Old friend, you are correct. Just as I strive to perfect my adherence to policy, so will I strive to perfect the policy. BDAbramson T 02:59, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
A favor please
Hello friend, do you remember me? In the month of September 2005, your vote had made me an administrator. we all know that the life here is exciting and full of challenges. I would request you to please spare fem moments for me, and favor me with your comments and suggestions (here please) on my performance as a wikipedian. Let us continue to build the Better than the Best global encyclopedia. Thank you and regards. --Bhadani 10:27, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
rfa
I wanted to stop by and thank you for your constructive criticism of my RFA. It's helped, and is helping, to improve me as a wikipedian and an editor. I look forward to gaining your support in the future. Until then, keep on keepin on. ⇒ SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 19:37, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
P.R. of New Jersey Supreme Court
I don't know the "normal" result of a RfPR request, but has the current one I filed on the NJ SC gone far enough? I'm thinking of putting it up for Featured status (The articel, not the peer review request) and am wondering if I should wait longer with the peer reviewing. Thanx again 68.39.174.238 21:16, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Pic expanded. You'll have to do the citations, since they're totally foreign to me. I'm looking for other infos on their "reputation" now... 68.39.174.238 23:55, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Opening light/Kappa
Thanks for the merging suggestion on Opening light; frankly, I had a blind spot – that possibility didn't occur to me. Now, is there a RfC or something on those Kappa and Monicasdude guys (I assume you're "stalking" him? (I'm just reading the discussion on WP:AN/I. Boy, it's gonna be a hot topic... Duja 16:14, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- I know of no RfC against either of them, but I will state at the outset that in areas other than those relating to deletion processes, Kappa is an outstanding editor and contributor. However, Kappa happens to have an unpopular penchant for pushing to keep any article that has any sliver of a chance for encyclopidic potential (although I have also seen him speedy any number of articles that were clearly gibberish or hoaxes). Although I disagree with his zeal, I do not begrudge him the absolute right to deprod any article and force a discussion as to its merits, nor his absolute right to argue for the retention of any article in AfD. BDAbramson T 16:38, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I must say this attitude pissed me off, but I'll trust your opinion about Kappa, wait and see. FWIW, there's Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Monicasdude. I'm not sure if they cooperate or just share some behavior patterns; probably the later. Regards, Duja 17:10, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
- I saw the RfAr, but have not interacted with Monicasdude enough to have an impression of him one way or the other. Thanks for letting me know, though. BDAbramson T 17:23, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Elizabeth Morgan page
BD: An anon IP tried to add a one-liner to the Elizabeth Morgan page, but Musical Linguist reverted it. Could you please take a look and consider re-adding the line. It was about a retrial in the Elsa Newman case. There was also a useful link added to the Stephen A. Friedman page. -- 71.139.165.206 17:27, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Help, help, the gremlins are after me
OK, so I'm trying to help get Gremlins up to featured status. I owe this to one of my favourite childhood movies. I've been trying to think of fair use rationales for the images, none of which were uploaded by me. I've tried doing this the same way I do everything around here, learn by example. But I can't see any examples of good fair use rationales for DVD covers, and the plushies might be a problem too. Could you have a look? Thanks. CanadianCaesar Et tu, Brute? 22:29, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

A little late, but still a welcome welcome
Thanks, B.D., for your welcome following my edit of the Theistic evolution article. Actually, I've been a contributor, though a rather desultory one, for 4½ years now. I contributed the original article on Edward Elgar, in 2001 (he said with a certain note of pride). We didn't have anyone looking over our shoulders in those innocent early days. But please don't get me wrong - I'm very glad that we now have people like yourself patrolling the streets!

Another vandal
Hi BD, I think this user, 206.176.100.20 is a vandal. If you can help please do so. --Eastlaw 04:52, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
