Uttara may refer to:

  • Uttara in Hindu mythology is the name of the son of King Virata who went into battle with Arjuna, in disguise, as his charioteer.
  • Uttarā (note the long "a") is also the name of a daughter of King Virata who married Abhimanyu. She was widowed at an extremely young age. Her son Parikshita, born posthumously, was the sole surviving dynast of the Kuru clan, and inherited the kingdom of his forebears.
  • Uttara is also a suburb north of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
